Hi, everyone! Nimia here, coming to you all of the way from Madrid, Spain. If you're not sure how far away that is from you, it is currently 10:45 pm and Friday is almost over with and in our hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana it is currently 3:45pm (CST) and Fiday is in full effect. As promised in our year anniversary post, I wanted this year for Elohim + Nim to be more transparent. I wanted you, as customers to know the company and me more in depth so that you're able to relate more. I also wanted you to get a glimpse of the extent we will go to, to always keep updated styles, trends and so our company keeps evolving with our customers' needs. Today we have a couple of announcements in store for the future of Elohim + Nim and you guys will be the first to know, so stay tuned.
In Madrid, I have had a chance to explore the street styles and the predominant trends. I have had the opportunity to explore local boutiques and clothing stores around the area. As most people know, trends hit Europe before we get them in the US. Not only did we find styles to bring back to you all, but we have also found new customers! Which leads me to my first announcement, we are going INTERNATIONAL! We are so excited to be able to share our products with other countries. Elo-nim.com will officially be open for shipping in the following countries: Spain, United Kingdom, Italy, France and our neighbors Canada! These countries can start ordering TODAY and will be able to view items in their currency! We are looking to translate our website in the near future.
Our next announcement is that we will start selling our very own brand! The goal has always been to help others, and we have finally found our own way to do so. We will start making our designs that will employ and empower women in third world countries. As a native to the second poorest country in all of North and South America, I have seen first hand how limited the opportunities are in countries like mine. The opportunities are scarce for everyone, but it's especially hardest for women, who don't have nearly as many rights as we do here in America. Most women in these countries have many skills including, sewing and design, but are exploited by the big maquiladoras (clothing assembly plant) in these countries. We will provide not only a job with fair pay, but also the opportunity for these women to better themselves and their children's lives. These women will be able to work better hours, earn a living and still be present at home, creating more stable homes for their children to give them their best chance at bettering their own communities. These designs will be pre-order only. They will be trending styles, with American made fabrics and will meet standards we set with the women working with us. You will be able to see a sample design and pre-order in your size (we will have sizing charts specifying measurements, which all styles will be made by). Each style will be unique and made in small batches, only for our pre-orders. After the ordering period has ended, the unique design will not be sold or made any longer. You will also get a chance to meet the women we help and hear their stories. This project is still in the works, but we will keep you posted on the official launch date!
“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”
Hebrews 13:16 NIV
This is a great year for Elohim + Nim, and we could never get here without you all! From the bottom of my heart, Thank You❤️!
